Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (Ontario)
About
The MCCSS of Ontario helps to improve outcomes for children, youth, families and individuals who need support, and to advance the interests of women across Ontario. They focus on Children and Youth, Community and Social Services, and Women’s Issues. The ministry oversees the delivery of child protection services for children who have been, or are at risk of being, abused or neglected. They ensure children and youth with special needs, including autism, have access to timely and effective services. They work with First Nations, Inuit, Métis and urban Indigenous communities to support the healthy development of their children and youth. They help prevent high-risk youth from coming into conflict with the law, improve their outcomes, and reduce re-offending. They also provide financial and employment supports to low-income Ontarians, and support the advancement of women’s equality and safety. The Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) provides funding and essential services for disabilities.
