Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC)

The Ministry of Health is the Government of Ontario ministry responsible for administering the health care system. In addition to mandated health services, they have initiatives that focus on: expanding care at your local pharmacy; improving access to care at home; improving access to mental health and addictions services; connecting you to health information 24/7 through Health811; and expanding Ontario Health Teams to deliver care in your communities. Their education and training initiatives include: the hiring more health care workers; expanding the Ontario Learn and Stay Grant; making it easier for those who want to work in Ontario with out-of-province or international credentials; reducing fees for nurses; investing in education and training our health workforce; and maximizing expertise of existing health care workers.
