About
The Fort Erie Native Friendship Centre works with the Indigenous community to resstablish traditions and culture. They provide a variety of programs to help community members with their reading and writing skills, employment, family services and they also provide a number of youth based programs such as “the lil’ beavers” and a youth program. They also provide an Indigenous based Daycare (Under the Rainbow), an Indigenous based pre-school (Aboriginal Head start), a separate building for teaching Literacy Skills and now in beginning stages of building a Children’s Native Friendship Centre.Their youth programs include the Apatisiwin Employment Unit (AEU) and the Grand River Employment and Training Program. Their adult programs include IHBFE and Katkwenyes. The Indigenous Homeward Bound Fort Erie (IHBFE) program is an education to employment initiative for single women with children.
