The Department of Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL) is responsible for supporting Post-Secondary Education, providing financial support (grants and loans) for student and apprenticeship incentives, supporting apprenticeship and trades programs and certification, support youth focused apprenticeship programs and supporting adult learning and essential skills development. These services include focused programs for underrepresented groups, unemployed workers, newcomers, and those employed that are interested in upskilling and skills training and education. The Population Growth strategy is an initiative of PETL to grow New Brunswick's population through attracting immigrants to the province. The Action Plan for 2019-2024 is focused on growing the population, balancing the effcts of outmgration and enhancing immigration efforts.
