The Alberta Insurance Council (AIC), formed under the Insurance Act, derives authority from delegations from the President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance. The AIC protects the Alberta insurance consumer through the professional qualification, licensing and regulation of insurance agents, brokers, and independent insurance adjusters.
