Goodwill’s primary mission is to help individuals with barriers to employment become self-sufficient through training and employment services. Goodwill Niagara partners with the Niagara Region to open an Attended Donation Centre at the Humberstone Landfill in Welland. Today Goodwill Niagara employs over 100 individuals and operates six retail stores which also function as donation centres and training sites across the Niagara Region. Goodwill Niagara creates jobs, training programs and senior housing in Niagara. Goodwill Niagara works in partnership with the District School Board of Niagara to identify kids and families in need in our community. In addition, they offer The Constructing our Future program provides theoretical and practical skilled trades training to youth in the Niagara Region. It is a youth employment program funded by the Government of Canada. Participants in the program learn theoretical and practical construction skills while earning the equivalent of minimum wage a
