Lakehead University

Lakehead University is a public research university with a learner-centred focus. They offer undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees. Through their innovative programs, they provide Indigenous focused programming and academic support for mature students. Their student support services include a Gender Equity Centre. They also initiate and support positive Feminist-Womanist action concerning gender, socio-economic status, ethnicity, religion, culture, family life, sexual orientation, gender identity and difference in physical or mental abilities. Their Pride Central provides a safe space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirited, queer, intersex, and allies (LGBTTQIA) students. Moreover, the Lakehead Student Union is a student-run organization that provides support and advocacy services for students.
