Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy helps Anishnawbe people obtain employment with apprenticeship/pre-apprenticeship: includes on-the-job training by technical instruction job opportunity program/targeted wage subsidy; provides training and work experience; assists individuals who want to start their own business and to become self-employed skills enhancement/direct course pur­chase and apprenticeship; unemployed/underemployed persons who require assistance to overcome existing or anticipated labour market barriers; and youth between the ages of 15-30 who have not successfully been able to find employment in their chosen career or educational paths.
