About
SCWCA assists women and children in need - particularly the needs of newcomer and immigrant families. They provide Settlement and Support Services, which include Cross cultural support, Government document support, English language classes, Computer literacy classes, Financial literacy, Collective kitchen, and Interpretation and translation services. The organization also offer supports in bridging the gap of the youths relationship with their parents and schools, and offers services like Counselling and mentoring for youth, Youth focused leadership skills and training, In school and after school program, and Academic assistance on and off site. SCWCA offers group activities to newcomer students throughout the school year in partnership with Edmonton Public Schools. The purpose of the program is to help boost in school performances, reduce risk behaviours, promote a structured and safe environment for the students.
