About

The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples represents the interests of Métis, status and Non-status Indians, and Southern Inuit Indigenous People living off-reserve in Canada. The Congress of Aboriginal Peoples (CAP) provides assistance and funding for training and skills development to Indigenous peoples living off-reserve through the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) program. The program helps Indigenous peoples prepare for and find high-demand jobs that will help address Canada’s labour market challenges. It is targeted to Indigenous peoples living in urban, rural and remote areas throughout Canada, and works collectively with its 11 provincial and territorial organizations across Canada to promote and advance the common interests, collective and individual rights, interests, and needs of its constituents. Those eligible to apply include Indigenous youth, women, single parents, mature workers, persons with disabilities and those experiencing career change or transition.
