Montreal Council of Women

The Montreal Council of Women (MCW) is a proactive council of women reflecting the diversity of society, encouraging informed political decision making and public attitudes for the well-being of society, through education, consultation and cooperation. The MCW strives to empower all women to work together towards improving the quality of life for women, families and society through the forum of its membership of autonomous federated societies and individuals. They work to increase awareness through action and community engagement, and focus on areas such as Health, Education, Senior, Arts & Culture, the Environment and the Status of Women. The MCW also engage in the use of petitions, as one of the tools in the box advocates, to encourage action and underscore concerns around a specific issue- the more names in support of a petition-the better for the cause they address.
