Home Depot

The Home Depot is a large retailer who focuses on home improvement, construction and building maintenance. The Home Depot Canada Foundation works with community partners to remove barriers and enable at-risk youth facing homelessness with 4 core programs: housing, employment and life skills, prevention and research. The TradeWorx Program focuses on youth who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness face barriers to securing employment, which results in a lack of stable income to attain and maintain affordable housing. TradeWorx is an investment in organizations across Canada, empowering 100 youth with the skills and certifications needed to help them secure a living wage and attain permanent housing. TradeWorx’s funding commitment will help provide education and employment opportunities to young people and support them with the tools, training, and social support needed to find stable employment. Additionally, Home Depot partners with external organizations to provide workplace training for youth in their retail stores.
