About

Okanagan Training and Development Council's mandate is to encourage self-sufficiency for Indigenous individuals by addressing local and regional labour market and community needs and priorities through the delivery of employment, training, programs, and services. It is run by representatives from 6 Indian Bands. Programs include employment services program, which delivers employment services to clients and communities including counselling, placement and referral activities; youth development, which assists youth and students in preparing for future entry into the labour market; disability program, which provides assistance to a person with a disability utilizing any of the programs; job development wage subsidy, assist long-term unemployed or those at risk of becoming long-term unemployed by providing training and work experience opportunities that lead to future employment to overcome labour market barriers; and workplace training assists employers to upgrade the skills of employees.
