The Centre for Family Medicine

The Centre for Family Medicine is a Family Health Team comprised of family physicians, inter-disciplinary healthcare providers, support staff and learners. The mission of their Learners' program is to promote learning by an inter-professional team, enhanced and strengthened by education, research, and practice innovation, for the public, patients, learners, and practitioners, within a sustainable, supportive environment. To provide leadership in effective primary health care delivery. Learning in such an environment ensures excellence in health care delivery to patients. They collaborate with other institutions to create the McMaster KW & Area Family Medicine Residency Program. They also work to improve the health and well-being of new Canadians and refugees by understanding what leads to successful integration outcomes and for whom so that we can tailor resettlement programs to best suit newcomers’ needs and circumstances.
