Indigenous Services Canada
About
Indigenous Services Canada (ISC-works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities. ISC has been mandated to create systemic change in how the federal government delivers services to Indigenous peoples and to transfer the design, planning, management and delivery of these services to Indigenous control. This is achieved by promoting consistency and quality, improving accountability to Indigenous peoples, taking a distinctions-based approach in the delivery of services, and developing partnership models. The five key priority areas are improving health outcomes, quality education, children and families together, reliable infrastructure and a new fiscal relationship.
