Movement51 is a not-for-profit organization established by The51 to address financial inequalities that affect women and gender-diverse people across Canada. The51 is a financial feminist platform and venture capital firm where current and aspiring investors come together to democratize access to capital in the areas of entrepreneurship, investing, financial education and confidence. Since its inception, M51 has addressed financial inequalities through innovative educational programs like the Financial Feminism Investing Lab, community events, strategic partnerships with academic institutions like the University of Calgary, and like-minded non-profits like the Canadian Women’s Foundation. The M51 Founder Lab is an intensive, 9-week, hybrid program that helps talented and motivated women and gender-diverse people who are leading or co-founding companies headquartered in Canada, ideally, those planning to raise a pre-seed ($25k - $1.5M CAD) round within 6-8 months of applying, and to become venture ready and learn how to fundraise with confidence.
