Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC) takes a holistic approach to development challenges, tackling poverty on multiple fronts, in over a dozen countries in Africa and Asia. The organization offers several programs. Currently, their Broadening Economic & Social Transformation for Women’s Economic Empowerment & Recovery (BEST4WEER) program aims to improve women’s social and economic empowerment during the process of COVID-19 recovery and rebuilding in Gilgit-Baltistan province and the Chitral district in Pakistan. Also, their Accelerating Women Climate Entrepreneurs (AWCE) program Strengthens local entrepreneurship support organizations (i.e., incubators and accelerators) by providing training to enhance their capacity to apply a gender lens to their portfolio. The program also provide training to enhance the capacity of investors to integrate gender lens investing in their portfolios.
