About
The Native Women's Centre provides safe, emergency shelters for all women regardless of age, ancestry, culture, place of origin, sexual orientation, with or without children who are experiencing crisis in their lives due to family violence, homelessness or conflict with the law. Their programs and services include therapeutic support, leadership, life skills, housing supports, crisis intervention referrals, and more. They offer educational programming, counselling, and outreach. The Native Women's Centre of Hamilton accepts student placements from college and university programs such as: social work, social sciences, nursing, food preparation, nutrition, administration, fundraising, marketing, and media studies.
