The College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario protects and serves the public by overseeing the profession of occupational therapy in the province. As a regulatory organization, the College supports the public’s right to safe, competent and ethical care by occupational therapists (OTs). The College serves the public by: setting the education and qualifications necessary to practice occupational therapy in Ontario, issuing certificates of registration to occupational therapists (OTs) who have met the professional requirements, enabling them to practice, developing standards of practice – the rules that occupational therapists must follow and more.
