About

Officially created on March 31, 2001, the MOFIF has its roots in a meeting held in 1996 and headed by the Francophone feminist table for provincial consultation of Ontario. We discuss the major issue then represented by the sponsorship of immigrant women. In 1999, the Table held a first community forum where the results were disseminated and consultations were held on the recommendations to be made. In the early 2000s, MOFIF continued to mobilize to advance issues concerning the community of French-speaking women in Ontario with decision-making and community bodies. The years that followed saw an intensification of partnerships with community organizations, particularly those working with women. The MOFIF maintains itself by accumulating subsidies with donors at the provincial and federal levels.
